The A5 is based on the Tippmann 98 in terms of design. However, the A5 is easier to disassemble and features a Cyclone Feed side-mounted mechanical feeder that ensures smooth operation even at higher rates of fire.
In addition to the 200-ball magazine (included with the marker), the magazine well also accommodates small tactical magazines or other special models designed for Cyclone Feed.
The gun’s appearance can be perfected thanks to a wide variety of upgrades, both from Tippmann and, most notably, from Milsig’s high-quality products. A major drawback of the gun is its extremely high air consumption, so much larger tanks are required to achieve a reasonable number of shots.
Especially for the winter season, it is also important to note a drawback of the Cyclone Feed magazine, which can practically “mash up” cold paintballs, making the gun difficult to use in the winter even if you use an air system.
The Tippmann A5 comes with a standard 8.5-inch barrel, and in this case, as is typical for Tippmann, it is strictly an emergency barrel, with the expectation that everyone will purchase a higher-quality one according to their own preferences.
